Why I Review Indie Books
Traditional publishing gives authors entire teams of editors, proofreaders, and marketers. Most indie authors don’t have that luxury. They pour their passion (and what resources they can) into their work, often without the polish big publishers provide.
But here’s the thing: a good story is still a good story. Typos or the occasional rough edge shouldn’t stop us from celebrating unique voices and memorable characters. Indie books deserve to be read, shared, and valued, not dismissed.
That’s why I’ve started a weekly series of gentle but honest reviews on Story Structure Studio. I’ll focus on story, character, and craft, highlighting what shines while offering supportive notes.
Because it’s time to shift the paradigm. Let’s look past gatekeepers and algorithms, and start lifting up the writers who bring us stories worth remembering.
After all, we’re not just writers, we’re readers too. Why should we miss a great read because the algorithm said so?
Join me each week as I spotlight an indie book that deserves your attention.
Happy Reading!
