An animated angel character has a guiding sparkly light to represent sequence 7 in a story

How to Structure Sequence 7 in a Story:

Welcome to Act Three. In Sequence 7, your character takes a breath, has time to reflect, to think, to prepare for action.

It’s not all figured out yet, but something’s shifted. They’re emotionally raw, but no longer confused.

In this sequence, write scenes that show your protagonist taking deliberate steps toward the final goal. They’ve stopped running from their flaw and started owning their strength.

Use emotional courage here. The character may still be afraid, but they act anyway.  Make your reader feel courageous but scared, too! Maybe even more than the character by applying dramatic irony into the mix.

Act Three: Sequence 7

Emotional Focus: The reader should feel urgency, rising courage, and tense anticipation. The character is acting boldly now, whether it’s a final plan or an impulsive stand. This is the sprint to the climax—momentum matters.

This sequence builds momentum toward the climax. It’s their final push.

Happy Writing!
